Ethylene C2H4
Physical Properties: colorless narcotic gas with a slightly sweet odor characteristic of hydrocarbons.
Chemical properties: it can form explosive mixtures with air, extremely flammable and explosive, and it is very easy to be oxidized by oxidants at room temperature.
Application areas: industry, ecology, agriculture.
It can be applied as intermediate of medicine and refrigerant of special refrigeration equipment, basic chemical raw material of synthetic fiber, synthetic rubber, synthetic plastic and synthetic ethanol. It is also used in the manufacture of vinyl chloride, ethylene oxide, styrene, acetic acid, acetaldehyde ethanol and for fruit ripening.
